Taking Cake Decorating Classes or Courses in Person or Online? Which is Better?

Can you really learn cake decorating online?
The short answer is yes. Cake decorating can be learned by taking online cake decorating classes and courses. Almost everything else in the world is learned by way of distance learning so why not custom cake decorating?
One example is a website called www.UniversalClass.com. They offer an Introduction to Cake Decoration Class with or without a certificate. It costs more if you choose the certificate. But still ... it's only a level 101 class (just the basics). They do offer it online so it can be taken from anywhere but what if I want to take a more advanced class or course? What if I want to take specialty classes or courses like the ones offered by Wilton or independent cake artists?
Well, if I want to take a Wilton class or course I have to travel all the way to their teaching location in Illinois. That means either spending money on expenses driving or flying and either way can get quite expensive depending on how far it is. Plus, taking classes or courses at their location can get really expensive. If you have the money and you don't mind spending it then it's a great choice. Very good quality school. However, if you are like most other struggling cake artists around the world you have to learn where and how you can because you only have a limited amount of money you can spend on things of this sort.
So, what's a person to do? If you're really broke you can spend time learning on the Internet by watching free cake decorating videos on YouTube and other sites, reading cake decorating articles on HubPages and other sites, reading cake decorating forums, etc., etc. But if you can afford to spend a little bit of money I would recommend take online cake decorating classes and courses from a new website called CakeDecoratingClasses4u.com. You can also teach online cake decorating classes and courses at this particular site. You supply all the content (slides, reference materials, photos, etc.) and they do all of the marketing, promotion and the handling of ticket sales. For the ones who want to learn in person this would not be a good choice unless you don't mind learning online at a distance. The classes and courses are all live (they are not pre-recorded).
Hopefully, this article has given you some insight into how to learn cake decorating whether you want to learn it in person, online for free or online for a small fee (with or without a certificate). The choice is yours. The point is to never stop learning! Cake decorating can really be learned online if you stay committed to the task at hand. Good luck and never stop learning!

My wife took a cake decorating class at our local community college. It proved to be a huge asset and she had made hundreds of birthday and wedding cakes these last 35 years. Great write.
